Guest Event – ‘Oil and Liquin’ with Kieran Stiles
7th February 2025 - 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Explore the links between Edouard Manet and last still life paintings of Ken Howard RA and learn how to use Liquin with oils to produce a fluid and free flowing brush mark. The addition of Liquin creates a gell-like film resulting in a less gritty textural effect, but more of a fluid sweep. Working on canvas from direct observation of floral still life, learn how to experiment with different brush techniques to indicate a sketchy impression of how light appears on the petals of a rose.
All materials provided, expect for some A4 paper for notes and an A3 canvas board, which you will need to bring. Do also bring a rose or two of your choice if you wish to personalise your still life.
This workshop is payable in advance and non-refundable or transferable after 5 days before the event date.
Please contact Kieran to book.
